Children learn best when they are healthy, safe and secure, when their individual needs are met and when they have positive relationships with the adults caring for them. Safe and secure environments are essential for children to play, interact and develop. Without this, learning is not effective. Many forms of play help children become confident learners, with excellent dispositions for learning and development. Skilled adults who interact with children to enhance their learning are an essential part of enabling children to make their best progress.
